Osun State declares holiday, ends lockdown on hotels

Osun State Government has approved the reopening of hotels and recreation centres after five months of Covid-19 lockdown.

The Deputy Governor and Chairman of the Covid-19 Response Committee, BENEDICT ALABI, made the announcement during a meeting with stakeholders.

Meanwhile; today is being observed as a public holiday in Osun State to mark the Islamic New Year.

This was announced in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, FUNKE EGBEMODE.

The Commissioner warned that the holiday was not an approval for large gatherings or unauthorized meetings.

She advised people in Osun State to observe the Covid-19 safety guidelines as directed by the health authorities.

The Commissioner also said all workers in the state are expected to resume work on Friday, August 21, 2020.
