The Lagos State Judicial Panel on SARS says it has paid for a forensic examination of the alleged shooting of EndSARS protesters at the Lekki Tollgate on October 20 last year.
The Chairman of the panel, retired Justice DORIS OKUWOBI, made this known at the resumption of sitting on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, after the yuletide break.
Justice OKUWOBI was responding to complaint by the lawyer of the EndSARS protesters ADESINA OGUNLANA that his clients cannot afford to pay twenty-five million naira for the forensic examination of the crime scene.
OGUNLANA had also requested that the Panel allowed his team more time to examine the crime scene after the expiration of the two weeks earlier granted to them.
The EndSARS lawyer also kicked against the request by the Lekki Concession Company to be allowed access to the Lekki Tollgate plaza, as requested by their lawyer, ROTIMI SERIKI.
After listening to the argument; Justice OKUWOBI, adjourned the matter to January 29, 2021 for further consideration.
