Plateau State becomes Covid-19 Epicentre, as Nigeria adds 296 new cases

Nigeria has added two hundred and ninety-six new cases of Covid-19, which takes the country’s total to fifty-three thousand, three hundred and seventeen.

The new cases were recorded Thursday, August 27, 2020, in sixteen states and Abuja, with Plateau sustaining its lead on the daily list for the third day, with additional eighty-five cases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said Lagos State is fourth on its Thursday list of confirmed tests, with twenty-one new cases, after Enugu with forty-six, and Oyo with thirty-one.

Meanwhile, Nigeria also recorded one new Covid-19 death yesterday, as the total increased to one thousand and eleven.

The number of Covid-19 patients that have been successfully manage and discharged from isolation centres across Nigeria now stands at forty thousand, seven hundred and twenty-six.
