The Nigeria Police Force has disowned an online video that appears to show a man in what looks like police uniform, stamping his feet on the neck of another man on the ground.
Force Public Relations Officer, FRANK MBAH, said a careful examination of the video indicated that such incident did not take place anywhere or at any time in Nigeria.
MBAH, who is a Deputy Commissioner of Police, said the background language in the video, the vehicles captured at the scene, as well their number plates, are not Nigerian.
He said although the man in uniform looks like a private security guard, but certainly not a personnel of the Nigeria Police Force.
Following the findings; the Force PPRO said the Inspector General of Police, MOHAMMED ADAMU, has called calls on citizens to disregard the video.
He said it was put together by trouble makers who want to cause ill-feelings towards security agencies in Nigeria.
IGP ADAMU also assured of the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to always respect and uphold the rights of the citizenry.
