The American film industry is in shock of the death of actor THOMAS JEFFERSON BYRD, who was shot and killed in the US.
Reports say BYRD was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the back at Belvedere Avenue, southwest Atlanta, on Saturday.
Atlanta police spokesman Officer ANTHONY GRANT told US media that detectives were working to determine how BYRD was killed.
Meanwhile; fellow actors and actresses have been paying their tributes to late BYRD, with Oscar-winner SPIKE LEE describing him as a beloved brother.
BRYD had featured in many of LEE’s films, including Clockers, Bamboozled, and Chi-Raq, before his death at the age of seventy.
VIOLA DAVIS, who had also worked alongside BYRD, also expressed her shock at the news in a message on Twitter.
