Police on Nationwide Security alert, as EndSARS protest returns

Some young Nigerians have marched on the streets of some cities and towns in an attempt to revive the EndSARS protest.

This happened in parts of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, just as security was beefed up on the streets of Lagos in anticipation of the planned protest.

Lasgidi FM’s NAJITE ATIRENE was at the Lekki Tollgate, where soldiers allegedly shot at protesters on October 20, and saw armed mobile police men with their patrol vans on standby.

Armed policemen were also seen taking up positions around Opebi Junction in Ikeja, waiting for the protesters.

Reports from Osun State say some youths under the umbrella of the Face of EndSARS Movement, staged a protest in Osogbo to demand for good governance.

The protesters led by one EMMANUEL ADEBISI, marched through the streets of Osogbo to the Osun State House of Assembly.

The Ogun State Police Command also sent out policemen to keep watch in strategic areas across the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, ABIMBOLA OYEYEMI, told newsmen that parents had been warned to call their children to order.

OYEYEMI said those behind the second phase of the EndSARS protest are out to cause trouble, as there was no point protesting against an outfit that no longer exist.
