President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has launched the National Young Farmers Scheme, which is under the National Agricultural Land Development Authority.
In his remarks during the ceremony at the State House in Abuja, President BUHARI said the inclusion of more young people in modern agriculture would boost the economy and improve earnings.
The President urged agencies involved in agriculture to include their youth in their priorities, as he assured that government would create the right environment for full participation.
He directed that all abandoned government farm estates should be retrieved to enable thousands of our young men and women to be engaged in farming.
The President of the Senate, Senator AHMED LAWAN, attended the ceremony alongside the governors of Abia, Jigawa, Kebbi, and Yobe states.
