President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has vowed that government will deal with any act of hooliganism in the form of a protest.
President BUHARI also said although his government recognize the rights of citizens to protest peacefully, such must be done responsibly.
The President spoke while declaring open the annual conference of the Chief of Army Staff from the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He noted that the recent the recent EndSARS protest which was hijacked by hoodlums led to the loss of lives and property across the country.
President BUHARI praised the Nigeria Army for their efforts to restore law and order during the violence in many states.
The President’s remarks were confirmed in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, FEMI ADESINA.
Police personnel were also sent out to strategic locations in Ogun State to stop any attempt to revive the EndSARS protest.
