The Federal Government has justified the increase in the prices of electricity, saying it is not actually an increment but an adjustment.
Special Assistant to President on Infrastructure, AHMAD ZAKARI, said only those who enjoy above twelve hours of power supply daily would be made to pay for the improved service.
AHMAD ZAKARI also said with increase in tariff and improved power supply, manufacturers stand to benefit by spending less to run their diesel generators.
AHMAD ZAKARI also said on a television programme last night that Nigerians were duly consulted before the increased electricity tariffs were approved.
The Presidential Assistant also ruled out mass importation of pre-paid metres; saying that local manufacturers are being encouraged to boost production.
