Protesters demand justice for Rape and Murder of Uniben Student

…IGP sends forensic support to Edo State

Protesters dressed in black clothes have marched on the streets of Benin City, Edo State to demand justice for the rape and murder of an undergraduate, UWAILA OMOZUWA.

The protesters, who include students of the University of Benin and rights activists, marched to the Edo State Police Command, among other locations, chanting “Justice for Uwa”.

In his response; the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, AYOOLA AJALA said some suspects have been arrested in connection with the rape and murder of UWAILA OMOZUWA.

Meanwhile; the Inspector General of Police, MOHAMMED ADAMU, has promised to ensure that those responsible for the rape and murder of 22-year-old VERA UWAILA OMOSUWA in Benin City, Edo State are made to face the law.

I.G.P ADAMU has also sent additional investigation materials, including forensic support to the Edo State Police Command to help find the killers of the undergraduate of the University of Benin.

The response by the Inspector General of Police was confirmed in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, FRANK MBAH.
