PTF clears Enyimba

Nigeria representative at this year’s CAF Confederations Cup Enyimba FC of Aba has been given the all clear by Nigeria Presidential Task Force on Covid 19 to host their final Group A game against their South African counterpart Orlando Pirates at the Aba Township Stadium.

The PTF had a strong restriction for people coming into the country from South Africa due to the Covid 19 variants in their country and thus, this might have affected the visiting team but after much consultations and deliberations, the People’s Elephant will host their must win game at their home ground in Aba.

It would be recalled that during the qualifying stage of this same competition, Nigeria other representative Rivers United had to play the second leg of their match against Bloemfontein Celtics of South Africa in Benin Republic earlier in the year.

Enyimba has it all to do in this game if they are to progress to the knockout of this competition as only a win against table toppers Orlando Pirates will guarantee qualification for the two times CAF Champions League winners

Orlando Pirates tops the table with 9 points, Al Ahly of Benghazi are second with 7 points, Enyimba are third with 6 points while ES Setif sit fourth with 5 points.
