Senate demands names of beneficiaries of NDDC Covid-19 palliatives

The Nigerian Senate has denied that its members collected twenty-million naira each as Covid-19 palliative from the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

The Senate spokesman, Senator AJIBOLA BASIRU, made the denial in reaction to claims by NDDC’s Director of Projects, CAIRO OJUGBOH, who also alleged that fifteen million naira was given to each member of the House of Representative.

In a statement circulated to the media; Senator BASIRU challenged CAIRO OJUGBOH to reveal the names of the lawmakers who benefitted from the palliative.

He said the Senate views OJUGBOH’s claims with grave concern and demands an immediate public apology from him if he failed to mention those who collected the alleged Covid-19 palliatives.
