The Nigerian Senate has confirmed EMEKA NWAKPA as Chairman Federal Competition and Consumers Protection Commission.
The Senate also confirmed BABATUNDE IRUKERA as Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, while ADAMU AHMED ABDULLAHI was confirmed as Executive Commissioner.
BEN OBI NWOYE, AYANG FRANCIS EYAM, WAKILI ABDULLAHI AHMED, and THEOPHILUS OYEBIYI were confirmed as Non-Executive Commissioners.
However; the Senate rejected the nomination of YINKA OSOBA AKPATA to represent the South-West in the Commission.
Chairman of the Committee, Senator FRANCIS ADENIGBA FADAHUNSI, said AKPATA was rejected because she failed to appear before the Committee for screening.
