The Chief Whip of the Senate, ORJI UZOR KALU, has returned to work after six months, following his release from prison on Tuesday last week.
Senator KALU, who represents Abia North in the National Assembly, was jailed for twelve years over alleged seven point one-billion-naira fraud as Governor of Abia State, from 1999 to 2007.
However; the Supreme Court on May 8, 2020, nullified his conviction on December 5, 2019, and ordered a retrial of the case.
Meanwhile; Senator ORJI told newsmen as he arrived at the National Assembly complex in Abuja that he was happy to be back to work.
The APC lawmaker said he would be doing much to cover up for the period he lost while serving at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.
