SERAP demands probe of corruption in two Agencies

The National Centre for Remote Sensing is allegedly involved in multimillion naira financial malpractices.

These include payment for contracts without receipt, valued at more than six point six million naira.

The Centre is also to have paid over three point eight million for store items that could not be traced to its store.

The revelations were made in a report by the Office of the Auditor General of the Federation, covering 2017.

Other allegations include five point one-million-naira payment for two servers, of which only one was supplied.

The Report also indicates that the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission failed to account for one hundred and twenty-seven million naira, plus over eight hundred and seventy-five thousand US dollars.

The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation has directed the two agencies to return the missing funds.

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, is now mounting pressure on the Federal Government to investigate the matter and recover the missing funds.

SERAP’s Executive Director, ADETOKUMBO MUMUNI, made this known in an interview with Lasgidi FM’s UKPAI EZERA.
