SERAP warns Military against ENDSARS protests

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has warned against using the military to stop EndSARS protesters.

SERAP is of the opinion that sending the armed forces against peaceful protesters who are pushing to end police brutality will amount to a crime against humanity.

The rights group said if the armed forces attack the protesters, it would send a list of those behind it to the International Criminal Court.

SERAP’s threat is in response to the announcement by the Nigerian Army of plans for a nationwide launch of Operation Crocodile Smile-Six, beginning from tomorrow.

Recall that SERAP had during the weekend said it had obtained the signatures of three hundred and two Nigerians to sue the Federal Government.

SERAP wants the Federal High Court in Abuja to declare as illegal and unfair the increase in the price of petrol and electricity.

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI and Vice-President YEMI OSINBAJO are among five defendants in the suit.
