Social Media gag: FG, Northern Governors face more criticism

The Federal Government and Governors of the nineteen northern states continue to face criticism over the calls for the regulation of social media.

A social commentator, IHECHIMERE NWANNE, said it was not within the power of state governors to decide how social media should operate in Nigeria.

NWANNE also commended groups such as the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project that have decided to challenge the move against social media by the political class.

Meanwhile; the Executive Director of SERAP, ADETOKUNBO MUMUNI, said his group will go to court against the government if a law is passed to regulate social media.
