Uncertainty over NARD Strike threat, as Govt delays demands

The Federal Government is yet to meet all the demands by the National Association of Resident Doctors.

Representatives of the association are holding another round of meeting with government officials, but it is not clear if the doctors are considering going on another strike.

The First Vice President of NARD, Doctor JULIAN OJEBO, said the association was currently on recess and would make its position known after the recess.

Doctor OJEBO said there has been an improvement in the provision of Personnel Protective Equipment, but more still needed to be done.

OJEBO said not all of their members in federal and state-owned teaching hospitals and medical centres are covered by life insurance.

The NARD First Vice President was speaking when he appeared as a guest on a television programme monitored in Lagos.

Doctor JULIAN OJEBO said the National Association of Resident is open to negotiations and does not like to go on strike.
