US warned of Covid-19 surge, as drug makers seek approval for new Vaccines

The head of the US Centre for Disease Control, Doctor ANTHONY FAUCI, has warned of further increase in the number of new case of Covid-19.

Doctor FAUCI issued the warning as people returned home after observing the Thanksgiving holiday.

The warning comes as applications are filed in the United States and Europe for emergency approval for the use of the Covid-19 vaccine produced by Moderna.

The US-based drug maker wants its vaccine to be recommended for widespread use, after the clinical studies recorded more than forty-four percent success rate.

Pfizer has also applied for approval for its own Covid-19 vaccine in the US, while AstraZenca and Oxford University have also done same in the United Kingdom for their versions of the vaccine.
