The West African Examination Council has withheld the results of over two hundred and fifteen thousand candidates who sat for the 2020 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination.
The number represents thirteen point nine-eight percent of the total number of over one million, five hundred and thirty-eight thousand, four hundred and forty-five candidates who sat for the examination.
Also, a total of one million, three hundred and thirty-eight thousand, three hundred and forty-eight candidates obtained credit pass and above in at least five subjects.
The release of the results was confirmed in a statement by the Head of National Office of WAEC in Nigeria, PATRICK AREGHAN.
He said the withheld results are being investigated in connection with various examination malpractice, adding that reports of the investigations would be presented to the appropriate Committee of the Council for determination.
