Wale Babalakin appears before UNILAG visitation panel

The Visitation Panel for the University of Lagos has started its investigation of the leadership crisis that rocked the institution.

One of the first persons to appear before the Panel is the suspended Governing Council Chairman, WALE BABALAKIN, who refused to speak with newsmen after his meeting with the members Thursday afternoon, September 3, 2020.

Professor OLAWATOYIN OGUNDIPE who was suspended as Vice Chancellor by the BABALAKIN-led Council is also to appear before the Panel.

Others expected to make submissions to the Visitation Panel include representatives of the various unions on the campus.

Recall that President MUHAMMADU BUHARI had intervened in the dispute between the BABALAKIN and Professor OGUNDIPE and set up the visitation panel to look into the matter.

The President went on to appoint JOHN MOMOH as Chairman of Council, while the UNILAG Senate met and elected Professor FOLASADE OGUNSOLA as Acting Vice-Chancellor.
