Youth group takes Anti-SARS protest to Lagos State Police Command

There has been a protest march in Lagos State by Nigerians who want the Federal Government to scrap the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force.

The protest involved angry young Nigerians, who are the main targets of arrest, intimidation, harassment and extortion by F-SARS operatives.

The protesters began their march from under the bridge at Ikeja, to the State Police Command Headquarters.

Lasgidi FM crime correspondent NAJITE ATIRENE reports that the protesters threatened to remain at the Police Command for three days.

OLORUNRINE ODUNALA who led the youth protesters also kicked against the decision by the Force Public Relations Officer, FRANK MBAH, to talk with the popular entertainer, AZEEZ FASHOLA, also known as NAIRA MARLEY.

The Commissioner of Police, HAKEEM ODUMOSU, was not present to address the protesters but was represented by some senior officers, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administrations, ETIM OKWA.
