Femi Falana raises questions, as Dowen College defends autopsy on late Sylvester Oromoni

The lawyer for the family of late Sylvester Oromoni has raised questions on the autopsy reports conducted in Lagos and Delta states.

Femi Falana, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, also picked holes in the advice of the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecution.

Falana said there was no substantive Director of Public Prosecution in Lagos State at the time the advice was issued on January 4, 2022.

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria also faulted the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, on his claim that Oromoni died of natural causes.

Meanwhile, the Management of Dowen College is insisting that late twelve-year-old Sylvester Oromoni suffered a leg injury after playing football.

The Assistant Director of Students Affairs, Jeremiah Adeyemi, said the late Sylvester had complained about the pain and was treated at the sickbay.

Adeyemi, who spoke during an interview on television, said the school management did not see any need to place the student under medical emergency.

He alleged that the late Sylvester was not given proper medical attention when he left the school, adding that the school learned about his critical condition on social media,

Similarly; a Consultant Pathologist at the Military Hospital, Yaba, Chikodili Nwigwe, has said that pus was found on late Slyvester Oromoni’s the right ankle.

Nwigwe, who represented one of the students accused of involvement in the death of Oromoni, said the autopsy did not show that the deceased was tortured.
