Annkio Briggs faults 3% budget for oil production to host communities

Niger Delta-born environmental rights activist, Annkio Briggs, has joined the list of those who are not happy with the signing of the Petroleum Industry Act.

Like other critics, Annkio Briggs faulted the allocation of three percent budget for oil production to host communities under the Petroleum Industry Act.

Briggs, who shared her views in an interview programme on TV, accused politicians from the South-South Geopolitical Zone of failing to defend the interest of the oil producing region.

Speaking furthermore; Annkio Briggs maintained that the best way for Nigeria to tackle all the challenges facing the country is for states to be empowered to manage their resources.
