• NEC dissolves all party structures
• Expels HILLIARD ETTA as Nat. Vice Chair-South-South

The National Executive Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress has extended the tenure of the party’s caretaker committee by six months.

The APC-NEC also approved the expulsion of the party’s former National Vice Chairman for South-South, HILLIARD ETTA, because of a lawsuit he filed in court.

The APC National Executive Committee also took a decision to dissolve all organs of the party from wards to zonal levels.

These decisions were reached during a meeting of the APC-NEC at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, with party leaders joining through video links from different parts of the country.

The APC leaders also agreed to relax the party’s guidelines to allow new members the opportunity to contest for leadership positions within the party.

Kaduna State Governor, NASIR EL-RUFAI, explained that the decision is to enable young Nigerians to join the APC.

In his opening remarks, President MUHAMMADU BUHARI appealed to APC members to make sacrifices that would move the party forward.
