The Academic Staff Union of Universities has decided to embark on a one-month strike to press its demands from the government.
This was part of the decisions at a meeting of the National Executive Council of ASUU, which lasted until the early hours of yesterday.
The university lecturers said they decided to stage the protest as a means to save Nigeria’s university system.
ASUU said that Nigerian universities are failing, and that government had been unwilling to do the right things.
