AU Suspends Burkina Faso AU over coup

The African Union has suspended Burkina Faso following the military coup in that country on January 24, 2022.

AU’s fifteen-member Peace and Security Council announced that the suspension will last until Burkina Faso returns to constitutional rule.

The Economic Community of West African Countries, ECOWAS, had also suspended Burkina Faso after soldiers overthrew President Roch Marc Christian Kabore.
