Court adjourns Fayose’s 2.2 Billion Naira Fraud

The trial of former governor of Ekiti State, AYODELE FAYOSE, for alleged two-point-two-billion-naira fraud will continue on October 20, this year.

Justice CHUKWUJEKWU ANEKE of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos adjourned the trial on the request of the prosecuting counsel, ROTIMI JACOBS.

Reports say JACOBS, who is prosecuting FAYOSE on behalf of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, informed the court the prosecution witness who was supposed to testify was not present.

AYODELE FAYOSE’s lawyer, OLALEKAN OJO, who was present in court with his client, did not oppose the request for an adjournment.

The last time the case came up in court was on march 5, 2020, when the EFCC called its fifth witness.
