Court freezes accounts of Lagos Assembly Speaker

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, MUDASHIRU OBASA, has appeared before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for questioning over allegations of fraud.

Speaker OBASA has been facing allegations of fraud, which he denies, except for the approval of eighty million naira for a training programme in Dubai for wives of some of the House of Assembly members.

The State Assembly had set up a panel of inquiry to investigate the allegations against the Speaker, which cleared him of any wrongdoings.

Meanwhile; a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the interim freezing of three bank accounts belonging to MUDASHIRU OBASA.

The order was made by Justice NICHOLAS OWEIBO following a motion filed by the EFCC.
