Court refuse to protect Mailafia from Police interrogation

Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, OBADIAH MIALAFIA, has failed to stop the Nigeria Police Force from having him investigated.

This is because Justice ARUM ASHOMS of the Plateau State High Court has dismissed OBADIAH’s application for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights.

Justice ASHOMS ruled that OBADIAH’s application lack of merit, adding that the police have the constitutional powers to investigate and invite citizens over allegations.

After the court session, OBADIAH’s lawyer, YAKUBU BAWA, and another lawyer from the defence team spoke with newsmen about the proceedings.

Recall that the Police had requested OBADIAH to report at the Force Headquarters in Abuja to answer some questions over his recent allegations that a governor in the north was a terrorist commander.

The former Central Bank official has also been facing series of questionings by detectives at the Plateau State office of the Department of State Services in Jos.
