Crowd jobseekers storm Rivers Secretariat for 5,000 vacancies

Hundreds of young jobseekers have stormed the Rivers State Government secretariat in Port Harcourt in search of vacancies in the state civil service.

The submission of applications is being done manually, after the Rivers State Executive Council approved the recruitment of about five thousand new civil servants who are not more than thirty-five years.

A local journalist told Lasgidi FM News Desk on telephone that business centres around the State Secretariat complex made increased sales by helping the jobseekers to prepare the necessary documents.

The job rush in Rivers State is part of the fallout of the EndSARS protests by young Nigerians across the country.
