Ekiti Seeks Supreme Court interpretation on Virtual Court Sitting

The second lawsuit has been filed at the Supreme Court to test the position of the law on online court sitting.

Ekiti State government is behind the latest move, which comes few days after the Lagos State government filed a similar case.

Ekiti State wants the Supreme Court to decide whether the AGF is right to have asked courts to use video conference platforms to handle cases because of the Covid-19 lockdown.

According to the matter filed by the State Attorney General, WALE FAPOHUNDA, Ekiti said the directive was not in agreement with sections of the 1999 Constitution.
