#ENDSARS: Abia State Governor pays sympathy visit to Lagos

Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU played host to his Abia State counterpart, OKEZIE IKPEAZU, and other Igbo leaders, who came to sympathise with his and the people of Lagos over the losses suffered after hoodlums hijacked the EndSARS protests to cause violence and destruction.

In his remarks during the meeting, Governor IKPEAZU said the coordinated attacks on public assets and private businesses in Lagos affected the entire country, adding that Lagos State remained a home for all Nigerians, not minding differences in tribe, language or religion.

He also thanked Governor SANWO-OLU for protecting the businesses and property owned by Igbos in Lagos during the violence.

In his response; Governor SANWO-OLU thanked the Abia Governor for taking the pain to travel down to Lagos from the Southeast to identify with the residents over the violence.

He also promised that Lagos State Government would continue to support business aspirations of the Igbo and protect their rights to live in Lagos.

A statement from the Lagos State Government House also confirmed that some indigenes of other Southeast and South-south states living in Lagos paid solidarity visit to Governor SANWO-OLU.
