Organisers of the EndSARS protest anniversary in Lagos State have revealed their plans for the event, which is expected to take place tomorrow.
Part of the plan is a vehicular procession that would drive through the Lekki Tollgate, where EndSARS protesters were shot at on the night of October 20, 2020.
Armed policemen are keeping watch around the Admiralty Circle tollgate, and the tollgate at Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge.
Lasgidi FM’s Chukwuemeka Obioma visited the two locations and reports that policemen on patrol trucks are on standby.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had reversed his earlier threat to stop the anniversary protest, adding that the police recognize the right of citizens to hold protests.
Meanwhile; some residents of Victoria Island and Lekki have given their support for the EndSARS protest remembrance.
Those who spoke with our man said the protest was required to remind the world of the bravery exhibited by the Nigerian youth.
The people condemned the attitude of officers of the Nigeria Police Force, which they said had refused to change despite the EndSARS protest demands.
