EndSARS: Femi Falana confirms intention to sue FG, CBN

The unfreezing of the bank account of twenty promoters of the EndSARS protest last year has set the stage for another round of legal actions.

This time, the EndSARS promoters are the ones dragging the Federal Government and the Central Bank of Nigeria to court for alleged violation of their rights.

Their lawyer, FEMI FALANA, said the CBN and the Federal Government have no case against his clients.

The human rights lawyer also said none of his clients was asked any question by the authorities for the ninety days that their bank accounts were frozen.

FALANA, who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, further argued that the CBN misled the court by engaging in issues that are outside its primary assignment.

FEMI FALANA also argued that there was no basis for the government to appeal the order unfreeze the bank accounts of the EndSARS promoters.

FALANA was responding to comments the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, ABUBAKAR MALAMI during an interview on a television programme.
