EndSARS protester, Eromosele Adene, gets 1m bail

The Nigeria Police has failed in its attempt to extend the detention by EndSARS protester, EROMOSELE ADENE, for additional thirty days.

This is because the Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court has granted bail to ADENE in the sum of one million naira, after nearly two weeks in detention.

This happened a day after police officer from the State Criminal Investigation Department secretly approached the Court for an order to extend ADENE’s detention, without the consent of his lawyer.

The defence lawyer, ADESINA OGUNLANA, said the bail conditions could have been better, but the prosecution lawyer refused to talk with newsmen.

Reacting to the decision of the court, ADENE’s family members, including his mother, FLORENCE, said they were happy.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen outside the courtroom, FLORENCE ADENE, said her son, like other Nigerian youth, was fighting a good cause.

Meanwhile; security operatives had a tough time trying to prevent a crowd of EROMOSELE ADENE’S supporters from entering into the Yaba Chief Magistrate’s Court to witness the trial.
