Ezeife absolves IPOB/ESN of blame in attacks on INEC offices in South-East

Leaders of the South-East Geopolitical Zone have continued to speak out over the security challenge in the area.

Among them is a former governor of Anambra State, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, who is calling for a proper investigation of those behind attacks on government and private facilities in the zone.

Ezeife, who made the call during an interview on television, said the banned Indigenous People of Biafra and the Eastern Security Network are not behind the violent attacks in the South-East.

He said investigations by elders in the South-East revealed that recent attacks on security formations and facilities of the Independent National Electoral Commission are meant to provoke Igbo people.

The former governor also said that the rate of killings and destruction that have been recorded in the South-East do not reflect the character of Igbo people.
