Some chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party in the Southwest have rejected Governor SEYI MAKINDE of Oyo State as zonal leader of the party.
Leading this position is a former governor of Ekiti State, AYODELE FAYOSE, who argued that such leadership position in the party needs to be earned.
FAYOSE declared himself as PDP leaders, adding that Governor MAKINDE was not his leader but his follower.
FAYOSE made the declaration while addressing a group of PDP members at his Lagos residence.
He also backed a former Information Commissioner in Ondo State, EDDY OLAFESO, for the position of PDP National Vice Chairman for the Southwest.
The position of FAYOSE will not be a surprise to many political observers in the Southwest, as he had been in disagreement with Governor MAKINDE.
