FG approves closure of Lagos 3rd Mainland Bridge for repairs

The Lagos Third Mainland Bridge is set to undergo another round of repair, beginning from July 24, 2020.

This followed concerns over the safety condition of the bridge due to some worn-out expansion joints on the structure.

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, OLUKAYODE POPOOLA, said the repairs would begin on the outward mainland lane, and would last for six months.

Meanwhile; some road users in Lagos have called for the removal of trailers that are obstructing traffic movement of some major roads.

The affected areas include Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, as well as Awodi-Ora in Ajegunle, and the Costain-Orile link bridge.
