FG declares Public holidays for Christmas and New Year celebrations

The Federal Government has declared public holidays for Friday, December 25, which is Christmas Day.

Public holidays will be observed on Monday, December 28, as well as Friday, January 1, 2021.

The Minister of Interior, RAUF ADESOJI AREGBESOLA, made the declaration on behalf of the government.

AREGBESOLA was quoted in a statement by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, SHUAIB BELGORE, saying that government celebrates with Christians and all Nigerians, both at home and abroad on this year’s Christmas and New Year.

AREGBESOLA advised Christians to follow the examples of Jesus Christ and live a life of humility, service, compassion, patience, peace and righteousness.

The Interior Minister maintained that peace and security are very important for government to fulfil its mission of growing the economy and creating jobs for citizens.

He also advised all Nigerians to observe the guidelines to check the spread of Covid-19 as they engage in end-of-year celebrations.

RAUF AREGBESOLA also assured that the Federal Government was committed to the fight against all forms of crimes in the country.

AREGBESOLA stressed the need for Nigerians to support the security agencies by providing them with information on the activities of criminals.
