FG rules out 2nd Covid-19 lockdown; accuses ICC, AI of undermining security

It has been revealed that the Federal Government has no plan to impose another lockdown following the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This was made known by the Minister of Information and Culture, LAI MOHAMMED, at a conference he attended in Lagos.

LAI MOHAMMED said what is needed at the moment is for Nigerians to observe the guidelines put in place by the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19.

MOHAMMED said government was very unhappy that Nigerians are not following to the guidelines, which require them to wear face masks, observe social distancing, avoid large gathering of people and wash their hands regularly.

He also said that the Federal Government was aware of the economic and social impact of a second lockdown, and wants Nigerians to help in dealing with the problems.

He accused the International Criminal Court and Amnesty International of working against the interest of Nigeria.
