Fire has destroyed a section of the secretariat of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Akure, Ondo State.
The fire affected a portacabin office used for storing Smart Card Readers, but was later put out by men of the Fire Service.
INEC National Commissioner in charge of Voter Education and Information, FESTUS OKOYE, visited the scene last night and said the incident would be investigated.
The fire outbreak at the INEC office in Akure comes four weeks to the conduct of the Ondo State governorship election on October 10, 2020.
