Fire Disaster: Alade market traders call for help

Traders at the Alade Market in Shomolu area of Lagos State have called for assistance following the fire disaster they suffered on Tuesday this week.

The traders said they suffered losses in millions of naira as the fire destroyed at least one hundred and five shops at the Shomolu Market.

Some of the traders who spoke with Lasgidi FM’s CHUKWUEMEKA OBIOMA complained that the latest fire disaster is the second time in less than four months.

They said that about two hundred shops were destroyed in the previous fire disasters, adding that they were yet to recover when the market was again burned down on Tuesday.

Also, the general leader of all eight markets in Shomolu, BASHIRU YINUSA ADISA, and the Assistant Manager of the Alade Market, MODINAT ONIKE OWOEYE, said they have started talking with the authorities on ways to support the traders to recover from the fire disaster.
