The sale and use of fireworks and firecrackers have been banned within the business districts of Lagos State during the forthcoming end-of-year celebrations.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Central Business Districts, OLUGBENGA OYERINDE, announcement the ban.
OYERINDE said the ban on firecrackers and fireworks is because of the danger such materials pose to the health and investments of people in the business environment.
He reminded parents and guardians that the law banning the use of such items is still in force in Lagos, and that security agencies are empowered to arrest those who violate the law.
