Former governor of Lagos State, Alhaji LATEEF JAKENDE, has died at the age of ninety-one.
Late JAKANDE was the first civilian governor of Lagos State, and he served from October, 1979, to December, 1983.
He would be remembered for many landmark projects, including the several Jakande Low-Cost Housing Estates scattered across Lagos.
Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU has described the death of LATEEF JAKANDE as a huge loss, adding that he would be missed.
Governor SANWO-OLU said late JAKANDE’s record of service as a journalist and a leader of many great achievement as governor of Lagos State would always be remembered.
On behalf of the Government and people of Lagos State, the Governor expressed condolences to the family, friends and comrades of late JAKANDE.
