Fuel Scarcity looms, as NARTO stops lifting Petrol

• NPM threatens NLC, TUC over planned strike

Nigerians may be in for a week of fuel scarcity, following a ban on petrol tankers above forty-five thousand litres from plying the roads.

The Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO, has responded to the ban by asking its members to suspend the lifting of petroleum products from depots for two days.

NARTO’s National President, YUSUF OTHMAN, made the announcement during a media briefing in Abuja.

Meanwhile; the organized labour in Nigeria appears to be up against some obstacles in its threat of industrial action over the increase in the pump price of petrol and the cost of electricity.

This is because a group that calls itself National Patriotic Movement has threatened to drag the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress to court over the threat.

The leader of the NPM, OGENYI OKPOKWU, issued the threat against labour when he led members of the group on a protest at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.
