A gold mine has collapsed in the northern part of Ghana, killing nine people.
Police said the accident happened at Gbane, in Talensi district, in the Upper East region, near the border with Burkina Faso.
Upper East Regional Minister Stephen Yakubu said the mine where the accident happened is registered, and not an illegal site.
