Gov Mattawalle, ACF differ on Zamfara no-fly zone

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has faulted the decision of the Federal Government to impose no-fly zone on his state.

Governor Matawalle said that the Federal Government does not understand the security situation in Zamfara State.

Matawalle shared his views on the actions of the National Security Council when he received the Governor of Ekiti State and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Kayode Fayemi.

Meanwhile; the Arewa Consultative Forum has welcomed the no-fly zone imposed in Zamfara State.

The ACF also asked President Muhammadu Buhari to extend the flight restriction to other areas, such as Benue, Taraba, Borno, where bandits have been terrorizing the people.

The position of the ACF was contained in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Yawe.

A day before, the ACF Chairman, Audu Ogbe, had also challenged Governor Bello Matawalle to name the sponsors of bandits in his state, as he claimed to know them.
