ICC confirms complaints of crime against Nigeria protesters

Pressure continues to mount on the Nigerian government over the handling of the EndSARS protests, which turned violent.

The International Criminal Court says it has been closely following recent violence in Nigeria and calls for an end to the destruction of property and killings.

ICC Prosecutor, FATOU BENSOUDA, said her office has received information alleging crimes and is closely watching the developments.

BENSOUDA said they are also monitoring to see if there have been violations of the Rome Statute as violence spread across Nigeria.

The United Nations Secretary-General, ANTONIO GUTERRES, has also called for an end to police brutality in Nigeria and investigation of the shooting of protesters in Lagos.
