Lag Govt picks up medical bills of victims of violence

• Relaxes curfew from 8AM to 6pm
• Calls for end to social media incitement

Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU has promised that the Lagos State Government will pay the medical bills of everyone who was injured during the violent demonstrations across the state.

Governor SANWO-OLU made the announcement at the State House, Marina, after going around the state to see for himself the extent of the destruction of both government and private property in different parts of the state.

SANWO-OLU said the destruction is massive and called on all residents to join in the healing process of Lagos State.

Governor SANWO-OLU confirmed that nine patients from the Lekki Toll Gate shooting on Tuesday are still being treated in three different hospitals.

The Lagos State Governor also announced that the Judicial Panel on Police Brutality will begin sitting on Monday next week.

He also said that the job of the panel has been increased to cover the investigation of the shooting of protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate by soldiers.

Meanwhile; Governor SANWO-OLU has appealed to social media users who are still encouraging people to go on protest to stop doing so.

In the meantime; the Lagos State Government has adjusted the 24-hour curfew imposed in the state following the violent turn of the EndSARS protests.

Governor BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU announced that residents of Lagos can go out on Saturday, October 24, 2020, between 8AM and 6PM.
